Living Nativity In Colbert

Colbert Presbyterian Church will present its annual living Nativity scene this weekend on the church’s property at Highway 2 and Colbert Road. The retelling of Christ’s birth will feature Christmas carols, live animals and a bonfire.

Performances begin at 5:10, 5:50 and 6:30 p.m. today and Sunday.

Audience members are encouraged to arrive a least 10 minutes before the starting time.

This year the Nativity scene will be elevated for better viewing.

There is no admission charge, and plenty of parking is available.

German Christmas planned

The annual German Christmas service is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 219 E. Rockwood Blvd. The Concordia Choir of the German American Society will sing traditional German Christmas songs.

People of all denominations are welcome.

Author to sign new book

Author James Edwards will discuss and sign his new book during the Kaufer’s After Hours program Friday at 7 p.m. The book is titled “The Divine Intruder: When God Breaks into Your Life.”

Edwards is an ordained Presbyterian minister and a professor of religion at Whitworth College.

Friday’s program will be held at Kaufer’s Bookstore, 907 W. Boone. Admission is free, and the public is welcome.
