Progressive Corp. said Friday that Peter B. Lewis will step down as chief executive officer after 35 years. Lewis, 66, was arrested on Jan. 5 in New Zealand with nearly 5 ounces of marijuana and marijuana resin. He was released without conviction. Glenn M. Renwick, who has been chief executive of insurance operations for the company since the beginning of the year, will become president and CEO on Jan. 1.
Spiegel Inc. said Friday that Melissa Payner has been named president and chief executive in place of John Irvin. Irvin, 53, resigned to pursue other interests after four years with the company, according to a company statement.
