Jennifer Moskwick Awarded Scholarship
Jennifer Moskwik was awarded a $1,500 dean’s scholarship for the 2000-2001 school year at Eastern Washington University. Dean’s scholarships are awarded for academic excellence.
She is the daughter of Lawrence and Marilynn Moskwik, Elk, and is a graduate of Riverside High School in Chattaroy. She plans to study elementary education.
The Scottish Rite Scholarship Foundation of Washington announced that the following Spokane-area students have been awarded $1,000 scholarships:

Nathan Swinton, Spokane, has accepted membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. It is a national, nonprofit honors organization that recognizes first- and second-year undergraduate students who excel academically.
Army Pvt. Joshua R. Hinkle has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
Hinkle is the son of Maura Brown, Ellensburg, and Bill Hinkle, Spokane.
Army Reserve Pvt. Robert J. Hendriekson and Army Pvt. Todd W. Frey have graduated from basic military training at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo.
Hendriekson is the son of Robin and Estelle Hendriekson, Spokane.
Frey is the son of Patrick and Mary Frey, Spangle.
Rachel Frazier, Spokane and Jason Duba, Veradale, have received $1,000 renewable scholarships from the USAA Educational Foundation. The recipients, children of USAA members, were selected from a pool of more than 9,000 applicants.
Frazier, the daughter of Dennis and Jan Frazier, Spokane, is studying foreign language and pre-medicine at Whitworth College.
Duba, the son of David and Gail Duba, Spokane, is a student at Whitman College in Walla Walla and has an interest in environmental studies and biology.
Laura Toussaint, a New Mexico State University sociology graduate student, has been awarded a National Security Education Program Graduate International Fellowship of $20,000 to conduct research in India. She will work cooperatively from September 2000 through June 2001 with the Sociological Research Unit of the Indian Statistical Institute in Calcutta.
Toussaint is the daughter of Tom and Barbara Toussaint, Spokane, and is a 1993 graduate of Central Valley High School. She also graduated with honors from Eastern Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in sociology/clinical psychology in 1997.
Kathleen Loiuse Williams, Spokane, has graduated from the University of Oregon with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology.
Barrett Joel Smith, Spokane, has graduated magna cum laude from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Ill., with a bachelor’s degree in music performance.
Rhiannon E. Lockwood, Spokane, was cited for outstanding academic achievement in English during the spring term at Dartmouth College, Hanover, N.H.
Lockwood is the daughter of Reed and Eileen Lockwood.
Erika Migliore, Spokane, earned a bachelor of science degree from Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y.
Christine Wilson, a student at Washington State University, received a scholarship from the Delta Gamma Foundation. She is one of 214 scholarship and fellowship winners in the United States and Canada this year. Awards are based on academic achievement and leadership in Delta Gamma, campus and community activities.
Wilson is the daughter of Ken and Dalynn Wilson, Spokane. She is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in biology and pre-medicine.
Air Force Airman 1st Class Katrina D. Youngblood has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.
Youngblood is the daughter of Donna Burgess, Spokane.
