Organizations That Help Children Sought For Nate’S Hero Award

From Staff

A local foundation is asking for nominations for its monthly $5,000 award.

Nate’s Promise Foundation - started in November by Spokane businessman Pardner Wynn - will give $5,000 and the Nate’s Hero Award each month to an organization that helps children in the Inland Northwest.

December’s winner is Secret Witness, a private citizens’ organization that works with local law enforcement agencies to catch area criminals. It was selected because Secret Witness keeps the streets of Spokane safe for children, said Lea Conner Dudley, a spokeswoman for Nate’s Promise Foundation.

Nominations for the January 2001 award must be received by Jan. 5 and the winner will be announced at the end of the month.

To nominate an organization for the Nate’s Hero Award, please write to: Nate’s Promise, P.O. Box 28160, Spokane, WA 99228. Or e-mail to info@natespromise.com.

Please include your name and phone number, the name of the Eastern Washington organization you are nominating and why you believe it should be recognized for its efforts on behalf of children.
