The vortex of Inland Northwest fishing savvy will be centered on the Spokane Fair and Expo Center Friday through Sunday.
The 16th annual Northwest Game Fish Show, sponsored by the Spokane Walleye Club, will feature boatloads of area fishing experts offering hourly seminars, plus equipment exhibits, boats and much more, said Russ Oberlander, show director.
Show hours are Friday noon-9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Kids are more than welcome at the show. Although the Virtual Reality fishing simulator is fun for anglers of all ages, the Kid’s Casting competition and the worm dig are strictly for the youngsters, he said.
The show will have a 4,500-gallon aquarium for live fishing demonstrations.
The club sponsors the show as a fund-raiser for its many fishing-related projects throughout the region.
“We now have a warmwater fisheries scholarship at Eastern Washington University,” Oberlander said.
The club also supports fisheries research and enhancement at Banks Lake, trout net-pen projects and fishing access facilities for disabled anglers. The club also has helped build two picnic gazebos at access areas to Lake Roosevelt.
