Palouse Duck Benefit
Conservation
Contributing to waterfowl conservation will be a nutritious and social event at an annual fund-raising banquet Jan. 13 in Pullman, Wash.
The Pullman chapter of Ducks Unlimited will sponsor dinner an auction at Shermer’s Restaurant beginning at 6 p.m.
Similar banquets in large and small towns throughout North America have enabled DU to protect and enhance 8.6 million acres of wetlands, said Joe Ford, chapter spokesman.
Kids attending the event will be encouraged to enter a brief duck calling contest, he said.
Although the emphasis for DU projects is enhancing waterfowl, more than 900 species, ranging from muskrats to bald eagles, benefit from DU habitat restoration.
