‘Milestones Concert’ Includes Area Musicians

Two Spokane musicians will be among the young artists to perform with the Washington Idaho Symphony’s “Milestones of the Millennium Young Artists’ Concert” Saturday and Sunday in Pullman and Lewiston.

Elizabeth Delaney, a 1996 graduate of Ferris High School, is a senior at Washington State University, where she is majoring in flute and voice performance. She performed her first stage role in “Sweeny Todd” last spring at WSU. She played flute with the Spokane Youth Symphony, and flute and voice with the 560th Air National Guard Band of the Evergreen State. She is on the honor roll at WSU.

Tyler Evans is a junior at WSU majoring in piano performance. The 1997 graduate of Central Valley High School received a gold medal in last year’s Greater Spokane and Allied Arts Festival.

The concerts will also feature several other young musicians, including Gillian Campbell, a senior at Pullman High School. She received silver medals at the Greater Spokane Allied Arts Festival in 1997, 1998 and 1999, and was named a Washington Idaho Young Artist in 1997.

The orchestra’s fourth concert of the season will be at 8 p.m. Saturday at Pullman’s Gladish Auditorium. Sunday’s performance will be at 3 p.m. in the Lewiston High School Auditorium.

All tickets are $10 general admission, available at the door. Student tickets are $5, and one child will be admitted free with each paying adult.
