Kids writing for kids - that simple idea, hatched in Regina, Saskatchewan, seven years ago, has become an award-winning TV show seen in more than a dozen countries, including on the U.S. Discovery Kids network. The Incredible Story Studio shows 10-minute films of stories written by teens, and a profile of the authors, hosted by a teen “studio boss.” Virginia Thompson created the show with her husband after being impressed with the child character in the film “Sleepless in Seattle.” She said the show’s goal is to inspire kids to write. Teachers and kids can get a 68-page writing manual, and anyone can visit the Web site at www.storystudio.com. “We’re teaching kids to write and be creative all over the world, and that is the coolest thing,” said Thompson.
