* Job shadow opportunities: Middle and high school students who want to spend a few hours shadowing employees of area businesses will have the chance to do so during Job Shadow Week, March 20-24, sponsored by Junior Achievement, US West and the Spokane Area Chamber of Commerce. Our Generation is beginning monthly roundtable discussions with area teens on various topics. February’s topic is “Media and Image.” The discussion will take place Feb. 16 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at The Spokesman-Review downtown Spokane offices.
* Nominations are being accepted for the 13th annual Chase Youth Awards. Nomination forms are available at community centers, libraries and online at www.spokanecity.org/youthlink or by calling (509) 625-6440. Nominations are due by Feb. 18.
The awards honor youths in the community who have excelled in categories such as community service, citizenship, courage, creativity, diversity, leadership and personal achievement. Group awards are also given. And, all nominees will be honored at the Chase Youth Awards banquet March 28.
