Dolores Archibald Spokane

Memorial service for Dolores J. Archibald, 71, will be at 3 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home.

A lifetime Spokane resident, Mrs. Archibald died Saturday.

She was an engineering supervisor in the communications industry.

Mrs. Archibald was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, was a past president and member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and was a member of the Children’s Home Society of Washington.

Her husband, Edwin, died in 1997.

Survivors include a son, Larry Dunn of Phoenix; a daughter, Laurie Huck of Spokane; two brothers, Allen Ambrose of Glendale, Ariz., and Bill Ambrose of Phoenix; a sister, Eleanore Marsh of Portsmouth, Ohio; and five grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Morning Star Boys Ranch or the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery.

Norman White Lebanon, Ore.

No service will be held for Norma L. White, 77, at his request. Huston-Jost Funeral Home in Lebanon is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Spokane, Mr. White died Jan. 26.

He served in the Army during World War II.

Mr. White was a mobile home salesman in Spokane. He moved to Lebanon 10 years ago.

Mr. White was a member of the Lebanon American Legion.

Survivors include three sons, Mike White of Pinehurst, Idaho, Mark White of Covington, Wash., and Joe White of Redmond, Ore.; a daughter, Kelley Thomas of Lebanon; three sisters, Midge Jakou of Spokane, Fyrne Murino of Tidewater, Ore., and Donna Scoggins of Bryan, Texas; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Union Gospel Mission.

Sherrell `Jack’ Berry Spokane

Memorial service for Sherrell Jack Berry, 79, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South.

Born in Oakland, Calif., Mr. Berry died Wednesday.

He served in the Air Force during World War II and the Korean War.

Mr. Berry was a salesman in the electrical industry in California and moved to Spokane 10 years ago from Santa Barbara.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Elks Lodge.

His wife, Ormalene, died in 1989.

He is survived by three daughters, Linda Milsow and Deena Munguia, both of Spokane, and Beverly Berry of Santa Barbara; a son, Greg Berry of Careywood, Idaho; a sister, Dorothy French of Santa Maria, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Center Pointe or the American Cancer Society.

Roy Boots Cheney

Service for Roy Garnett Boots, 85, will be at 1 p.m. today at Cheney Funeral Chapel. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Fairview Cemetery in Cheney.

Born in Spokane, Mr. Boots died Tuesday.

His family moved to California and later moved to the Colville/Tiger, Wash., area and he graduated from Cheney High School.

Mr. Boots served in the Army during World War II with the 414th Bomb Squadron and the 97th Bomb Group in the European Theater.

In 1946 he married Helen Babb. They lived in Plaza, Wash., and later in Cheney.

Mr. Boots worked for Rosalia (Wash.) Producers and the Cheney Grange Supply. He later owned and operated Boots Insurance Agency in Cheney and retired in 1977.

He was a member of the Cheney Masonic Lodge, American Legion Post 72, East Cheney Grange, Cheney Cemetery Association and the 97th Bomb Group Association. He was also a past president of the Cheney Chamber of Commerce and served on the board of the Cheney Care Center.

Survivors include his wife; a son, John Boots of Cheney; a daughter, Mary Davis of Lacey, Wash.; a sister, Ethel Blair of Graham, Wash.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Lloyd Halverson Sandpoint

Service for Lloyd A. Halverson, 80, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint. Mr. Halverson, who was born in Larson, N.D., died Friday.

He grew up in Larson and worked on the family farm. He then moved to Kellogg, where he worked in local mines before serving in the Navy during World War II.

Mr. Halverson later moved to Harrington, Wash., and served with the police force.

In 1947 he married Geneva Metzger. They moved to Bonners Ferry in 1956 and he began a career with the Forest Service. They moved to Sandpoint in 1968, where he continued to work for the Forest Service and was involved in firefighting efforts during the Sundance forest fire. He retired in 1984.

Survivors include his wife; five children, Lavonne Gilliland and Clark Halverson, both of Bonners Ferry, Lavine Mobley of Kentucky, Larissa Rosario of California, and Lavern Halverson of Utah; and three grandchildren.

Lenore Rostollan Spokane

Funeral Mass for Lenore A. Rostollan, 62, will be at 10 a.m. today at the Roman Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes. Private inurnment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Spokane, Mrs. Rostollan died Jan. 24.

She was a homemaker and lived in Spokane for 42 years.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Dale; four sons, Stephen and John Rostollan, both of Spokane, Michael Rostollan of Walla Walla and Mark Rostollan of Paris; a daughter, Lynette Rostollan of Seattle; two brothers, Ralph and Jerry Little, both of Spokane; and four grandchildren.

George Wheeler III Airway Heights

Service for George B. Wheeler III, 64, was Friday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North.

Born in Bakersfield, Calif., Mr. Wheeler died Feb. 3.

He graduated from Bakersfield High School in 1953.

In 1956 he married Beatrice Rainey.

Mr. Wheeler served in the Air Force from 1956 to 1976 as a chaplain’s assistant. He retired as a technical sergeant.

He moved to Spokane in 1971 from Kansas City, Mo.

Mr. Wheeler was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

His wife died in 1996.

Survivors include two daughters, Sheila Sutherland of Seattle and Debbie Wheeler of Omaha, Neb.; three sons, James Steele of Spokane, Ralph Steele of Santa Fe, N.M., and Bobby Washington of Baltimore; a brother, Allen Wheeler of San Jose, Calif.; three granddaughters and two great-grandsons.
