The bankruptcy of a Wisconsin company that made 1.3 billion ice cream cones last year - more than half of those produced in the United States - is raising fears of a possible cone shortage at ice cream shops this summer. Ace Baking Co., filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in December and halted production. Ace’s Eat-It-All brand cones, made at plants in Chicago, Atlanta and Dallas, are used by such by national chains as Baskin-Robbins, Dairy Queen and McDonald’s.

The California Attorney General is suing Tandy Corp. and Vodafone AirTouch’s U.S. unit, accusing the two companies of misleading cellular phone customers. The suit alleges that the companies engaged in “unfair business practices.” It says the companies told customers who signed up for an AirTouch Cellular calling plan at a Radio Shack store that they could switch pricing plans at any time without penalties. But that was not true, according to the attorney general’s office.
