Curlew Qualifies

Jeremy Groth became the state’s No. 6 all-time scorer Saturday night as his Curlew Cougars qualified for the District 7 B tournament.
Groth totaled 37 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and six steals to lead the Cougars to a 94-63 win over visiting Inchelium in a Panorama League tournament semifinal.
Groth jumped to 2,184 career points and passed Colfax’s Jon Kincaid (2,150 from 1989-93) and Raymond/Aberdeen’s omm’A Givens (2,182 from 1990-94) on the night. Groth is 88 points shy of the top five.
Craig Groth added 22 points - including four long 3-pointers - 11 assists and six steals for Curlew.
Curlew will play Northwest Christian on Friday night at Colville for the 1-2 seeds to district.
The tournament continues Tuesday night with two winner-to-district, loser-out games. Inchelium will play at Republic and Selkirk will travel to St. George’s.

Goldman finished 8 of 10 from the floor and 7 of 8 from the line. The teams were a combined 2 of 19 on 3-pointers.
