Kaiser, Union To Meet In March
Kaiser Aluminum Corp., and the United Steelworkers union have set March 13, 14 and 15 as the next dates for negotiating the labor contract for 2,900 hourly workers.
The negotiating teams, which include presidents of the Steelworkers’ two local unions in Spokane, will meet in Houston.
Prior to that the two sides will exchange information.
“There will be ongoing informal discussions between now and then,” said Jon Youngdahl, spokesman for the Steelworkers.
The two sides met this week in Pittsburgh for three days. Neither party discussed the sessions.
The Steelworkers, including about 2,100 in Spokane, have been off their jobs nearly 17 months.
