Valley Dog Makes It To TV

Westminster competitors Sharon Marotto and Jewels Fabulous Fabio didn’t place in America’s most prestigious dog show, but they did make a television appearance.

Marotto, a Valley dog breeder and groomer, said her champion Chinese crested appeared on the USA television network with Westminster coverage about how the dogs are coiffed for the show.

“He’s one of the dogs in the tubs with soap draining down his eyes,” she said.

Marotto was not too disappointed that Fabio did not win a place in the show. The experience was worth it. She likened the show to a religious pilgrimage for champion dog owners and breeders.

“We had a ball. A lot of people got to see him and they loved him,” she said.

Marotto now plans to retire Fabio to a leisurely life of breeding and weekend fishing expeditions.
