Ryan Bodecker totaled 10 steals and seven assists Satur- day night to help Priest River eliminate visiting Timberlake 59-41 in an A-2 District I tournament opener.
Priest River’s Derek Kucherry hit two 3 pointers during the momentum-changing second quarter.
Timberlake held the Spartans to 6-for-36 shooting from the floor in the first half. But the Tigers couldn’t overcome 25 turnovers.
Timberlake’s Jessie Holderman had 15 rebounds.
Priest River will travel to No. 2 Lakeland (12-6) at 7 p.m. Tuesday, when the tournament shifts to a double-elimination format. No. 1 Kellogg (14-5) will host either Bonners Ferry or St. Maries. Bonners Ferry didn’t report its district opener with St. Maries.

Tim Fleming hit two 3-pointers and made 6 of 8 free throws to lead the Miners over the Pirates in a tournament opener at Lewiston High.
Wallace outscored Prairie 11-4 from the line.
In other openers, Timberline stomped Lakeside 72-46; Potlatch defeated Kamiah 67-52; and Lapwai stopped Clearwater Valley 70-34.
The tournament will continue Monday at Lewiston.
In loser-out games, Kamiah will play Lakeside and Prairie will meet CV.
Wallace will play Lapwai and Potlatch will play Timberline in winners bracket games.
