Adding 70 exercise machines and a commitment to be a community-oriented business, Futures Fitness and Health plans to open Friday at 527 E. Seltice Way in Post Falls.
The business will locate in space vacated by 24-Hour Fitness.
The owners of the new business have filled the building’s 11,000 square feet with gear for cardio-vascular exercise and free-weight workouts. Brand-name machines include Nautilus, Cybex and Hammer Strength.
The facility also features a “springy” hardwood floor for aerobics classes. It also offers personal training, saunas, lockers and day care.

The business has eight employees. Hours are 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays and 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays. Phone 457-1550.
The No Name Mexican Grill, formerly Z-Teca, in Ironwood Square in Coeur d’Alene, is becoming Qdoba Mexican Grill along with 44 restaurants nationwide.
Qdoba (CUE-do-ba) offers “fresh, authentic, fast, casual Mexican cuisine,” said Stan Pine, who owns the Qdoda outlets in Coeur d’Alene and Spokane and The Village Inn restaurant in Coeur d’Alene. Its most popular item is its 20-ounce burrito made while customers watch, with items they select. The menu includes taco salads, nachos, tacos and soup.
A resident of Kalispell, Pine owns seven restaurants in the Inland Northwest and plans to open five more Qdobas in Spokane and Boise. Development rights for 300 Qdobas were sold during the past few months.
Coeur d’Alene’s new Qdoba will host a get-acquainted party March 2, with proceeds to benefit Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
Wholesale electrical and electronics parts and commercial lighting packages for electrical contractors are specialties of Carlson’s Custom Supply Co. The business, now open at 5180-A E. Seltice Way in Post Falls, moved from 10643 Government Way in Hayden.

A complete makeover is under way for the Bates Motel, 2018 Sherman Ave. in Coeur d’Alene. New owners Jodi and Robert Powell, Cataldo, bought the 13-unit motel from Vicki and Alan Markizon.
It was built in 1953 as the original Highway 10 Motel. Phone 667-1411.
More than doubling its space, Prairie Feed is moving to new quarters at 2970 W. Hayden Ave. in Hayden. The new buildings, a 3,200-square-foot store and a 3,800-square-foot barn, provide space for more products than the company’s 4,000 square feet at 2150 W. Hayden.
Owners Merlin and Patricia Vance and two employees offer complete feed and supplies for animals. Born in Cardston, Alberta, Vance came to North Idaho from Pasco, Wash. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 8:30 to 4:30 Saturdays. Phone 772-4179.
