Man Killed Skiing Was From Spokane

A skier who died at Schweitzer Mountain Resort on Sunday has been identified as Michael Kazuba, 43, of Spokane.

He was pronounced dead after apparently losing control and hitting a tree, according to the resort.

Kazuba was skiing on the White Lightning trail around 11 a.m., marketing director Ingrid Campbell said.

Ski patrol members responded, and tried to keep Kazuba alive with first aid.
