Counterfeiting Suspect Sought

A man is being sought for questioning after passing counterfeit bills at a Valley video store, Sheriff’s deputies say.

Deputies are searching for a young Asian male believed to have passed two counterfeit $10 bills at Hollywood Video, 10 N. Sullivan Rd.

An assistant manager told deputies the suspect came in at 12:30 a.m. and asked for change for the bills.

The suspect then talked briefly about possibly applying for a job at the store and left.

When closing at approximately 2:30 a.m., the assistant manager noticed the two $10 bills believed to have been the ones passed by the suspect felt waxy and had the same serial numbers.

Sheriff’s deputies were called and confirmed that the money was counterfeit. It was taken as evidence.
