Flagger Struck, Killed On Highway

From Staff

A flagger on a state road crew project has been struck and killed on U.S. 12 west of here.

Sam Williams, 41, a Transportation Department employee based in Morton, had been working with a crew installing a road sign when he was struck Tuesday. He died en route to a hospital.

The Transportation Department said it was the first work zone death for one of its employees since 1994.
