WestJet Airlines, a Calgary, Alberta-based regional airline serving western Canada, said Thursday that it is ordering 20 new 737 jetliners from The Boeing Co. in a $615 million deal.
A federal judge issued a temporary restraining order Thursday on a union strike at Union Pacific Railroad just hours after it hit selected points across the Midwest and West. The railroad argued the strike over the closing of a facility in Wyoming was illegal. Arguments are set for Monday in Omaha.
Clarification: Coeur d’Alene Mines net loss in 1999 was $38.9 million, after dividends to preferred shareholders. A number reported Wednesday was the loss before the dividend payments.
