Sam Adamo scored a career-high 19 points, including three crucial baskets down the stretch, to lead San Diego to a 73-62 win over visiting Pepperdine on Thursday night. The decision prevented Pepperdine from claiming a share of the WCC regular-season title and the top seed in the WCC Tournament, March 4-6. The Waves have a half-game lead over idle Gonzaga (10-2 WCC), who plays today at Santa Clara, with one game left. … Saint Mary’s had six players score in double figures, led by Jovan Harris’ 15 points, as the Gaels snapped an eight-game losing streak by defeating visiting Loyola Marymount 77-65.
