Thelma Rule Kellogg

Private memorial service for Thelma Irlene Rule, a lifelong Silver Falley resident, will be held at a later date. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg was in charge of cremation.

Mrs. Rule, who was born in Spokane, died Thursday. She was 74.

Mrs. Rule was a homemaker and was a member of St. Rita’s Roman Catholic Church in Kellogg.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Lawrence Wild in 1965 and Pete Rule in 1981.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Clemets of Wardner, Idaho; two sons, Gary Wild of Billings, Mont., and Thomas Wild of Kellogg; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Donald J. Schneider Spokane

Funeral Mass for Donald J. Schneider, 69, was held Friday at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Deer Park. Burial followed at Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Mr. Schneider, who was born in Chattaroy, died Wednesday.

He graduated from Riverside High School in 1949 and served with the Navy during the Korean War.

He married Kay O’Reilly in 1955.

Mr. Schneider worked for U.R.M. Distributors for 33 years and also worked for the volunteer fire department in Chattaroy. He retired in 1990.

Survivors include his wife, Kay; six daughters, Diane Broderick of Deer Park, Kathleen Leclaire of Chattaroy, Terri Cotter of Diamond Lake, Wash., Antia Collins of Ridgefield, Wash., Vicki Rodel of Seattle and Nancy Hamlin of Oregon City; three brothers, Jack Schneider of Chattaroy, Frank Schneider of Moscow, Idaho, and Bob Scheider of Olmstead Falls, Ohio; two sisters, Clare Osborn and Helen Moberly, both of Spokane; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Francis Tripp Sun City, Ariz.

No service will be held for Francis H. “Frank” Tripp, 82, at his request. Sunland Memorial Park Mortuary in Sun City, Ariz., is in charge of arrangements.

Born in San Francisco, Mr. Tripp died Monday.

His family moved to Spokane when he was a child. He graduated from Rogers High School in 1936.

He worked for the Spokane Fire Department for 26 years. He retired in 1969. He also worked for the Keenan News Agency.

He was involved with softball and was inducted into the Softball Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Elks Lodge.

Mr. Tripp moved to Arizona in 1978.

Surviviors include his wife, Dodie of 20 years; three sons, Larry, Jim and Dave Tripp, all of Spokane; two daughters, Linda Jones of Malad City, Idaho, and Pamela Kim of Kaneohe, Hawaii; a stepson, Chuck Tripp of Anchorage, Alaska; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Eileen Hurd Spokane

Memorial service for Grace Eileen Hurd, 80, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Private inurnment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Rockford.

A lifetime Spokane resident, Miss Hurd died Feb. 17 She graduated from high school in Rockford and later graduated from Kinman Business College in Spokane. She received a bachelor’s degree in 1943 from Washington State University in secretarial and business.

She was a clerk at The Crescent department store for 27 years and retired in 1978.

Survivors include three nieces, Linda Goodner and Judy Stephens, both of Spokane, and Diane Kilpatrick of Stevenson, Wash.
