Background: Beebe, 42, has been at Knox for five years after spending two years as an interim pastor at First Presbyterian in Whitefish, Mont. Before that he served at a church in Fresno, Calif., for eight years.

He received a bachelor’s degree in music education from Albertson College in Caldwell, Idaho. He went on to earn a master of divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, Calif. He is currently working toward a doctorate in religion at Gonzaga University, and he teaches religion at Whitworth College.

Personal: Beebe is single and has never been married.
