‘Lifeskills Issues’ To Be Discussed

Medical professionals, educators and parents are invited to attend a special two-day conference titled “Important Lifeskills Issues in Educating Youth.”

The conference is scheduled for March 14 and 15 at Cavanaughs Inn at the Park.

The event is sponsored by Students Mastering Important Lifeskills Education. It will feature national experts speaking on topics such as unresolved pain and grieving, depression, suicide, mood disorders, media effect on violence, and youth and violence.

The conference will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 14 and continue from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 15.

Everyone attending will receive copies “Help Me, I’m Sad” by Dr. David Fassler, “When Living Hurts” by Dr. Sol Gordon, and material on youth and violence by Larry Cohen.

Physicians and educators attending the conference will be eligible for continuing education credits. The cost of the conference is $85, and pre-registration is requested.

Eating to benefit Civic Theatre

The Spokane Civic Theatre is sponsoring its fourth annual “Get Hungry for the Arts” fund-raiser on Tuesday. The Perkins Restaurant at Trent and Division will donate a portion of all sales from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday to the Civic Theatre.

Several radio stations will be on hand doing live broadcasts and giving away prizes.
