Students’ Art Work Honored At Regionals
Forty-six Inland Northwest high school students have been honored for their artistic talent in the 27th Regional High School Art Show, sponsored by Educational Service District 101.
The 58 winning entries were selected from a record field of 173 submitted from throughout the seven-county region. Of the 58 winners, 11 received first-place honors and entry into the state art show next month in Olympia.
Students are listed with their high school.
First place: Aiko Terao, East Valley; Joel St. Marie, two firstplace awards, and Chris Pierce, both of North Central; Robin Senibaldi, two first-place awards, Dean Rodgers, Kenny Towner and Matt Veter, all of Shadle Park; Adam Roller and Amanda Lochmiller, both of University.
Second-place: Roni Scouton, East Valley; Chris Pierce, Crystal Weilep, Isaac Robinson and Levi Holloway, all of North Central; Andrea McGrath (two paintings), Sara Shmoorkoff, Matthew Davis, Mike Kurimura and Theresa Villanueva, all of Shadle Park; Amanda Lochmiller and Jill Mittmann, both of University.
Third-place: Ryan Jones, Ferris; Joe Potts, Robin McElhaney and Samantha Eyrich, all of North Central; Gus Ballman, Riverside; Missy Narrance, Rogers; Matthew Davis, Mike Kurimura and Theresa Villanueva, all of Shadle Park; and Brooke Bishop, University.
Shadle Park High School earned 17 awards, the most in the competition, followed by North Central with 13.
Lakeland High School in Rathdrum has announced the Students of the Month for January.
Senior Anna Crecelius, daughter of Sandy and Rod Crecelius, is involved in singing, music and sports, and plans to attend George Fox University in the fall to study music and psychology.
Junior Dan Drew, son of Toby and Larry Drew, plays the piano and plans to study mechanical engineering at the University of Idaho.
Sophomore Stacey Douglas, daughter of Melinda and Dan Douglas, is involved in sports and camping, and hopes to study geology in college.
Six students received Lincoln Middle School Student of the Month honors for January and February. The winners were selected by students and teachers for the Pullman Kiwanis Club-sponsored award.
The January Students of the Month are: Jamie Thornton, sixth grade, daughter of Sandra Martin and Joe Thornton; Carl Haas, seventh grade, son of Rita Haas; and Kyla Wolfson, eighth grade, daughter of Cathy Wolfson.
The February Students of the Month are: Alex Kelly, sixth grade, daughter of Elaine and Tom Kelly; Kyla Hinrichs, seventh grade, son of Pam and Phillip Hinrichs; and Kelsie Lees, eighth grade, daughter of Judy and Tom Lees.
