2 Stores Reopen After Tuesday Fire

Two Spokane Valley stores damaged by a nearby fire reopened Wednesday.

Old Country Buffet and Rite Aid Pharmacy, located at the strip mall at the corner of Sprague and Pines, were closed Tuesday due to smoke damage from a four-alarm fire at Harbor Freight Tools.

The restaurant and pharmacy were the only ones of the five stores in the strip mall to announce plans to open before Jan. 1.

Old Country Buffet opened Wednesday at 11 a.m. after staff spent all night cleaning.

Rite Aid opened its pharmacy Wednesday morning. It planned to begin selling some non-pharmacy products on Friday and hopes to completely reopen by Jan. 8, says state market manager Jim Bartlett.
