Stanford Stays On Top
Stanford, one of three unbeaten teams remaining in Division I, was No. 1 in the AP men’s college basketball poll for the third straight week.
LSU and Kentucky moved into the Top 25, giving the Southeastern Conference five ranked teams.
The Cardinal (11-0), who won the Stanford Invitational last week, received 62 first-place votes and 1,738 points from the national media panel as the top seven teams remained unchanged.
Connecticut and Tennessee remained 1-2 in the women’s AP poll, which had numerous changes elsewhere. Three members from last week’s Top Ten lost Sunday and six others in the Top 25 were beaten during the past week.
UConn (10-0), which has been No. 1 all season, received 43 of 45 first-place votes and 1,123 points.
