Coke Classic
Coca-Cola introduced a new 8-ounce contoured glass bottle Wednesday that will feature city names stamped on the bottom. The bottle is a replica of one first used in 1915, when Coke attached the name of the city where the product was bottled. The new bottle - which has clear glass and not the green glass of that early version - will feature 24 cities, chosen for their historical ties with the company. It has “Coca-Cola” embossed on the sides, not printed in white script like the glass bottle most recently in use. The new bottle is part of a broader marketing campaign that will be introduced next week with new radio and television commercials.
