Roberts, Willis People’S Choice Winners

Julia Roberts and Bruce Willis took the top film honors Sunday at the 26th annual People’s Choice Awards, where they were honored as favorite actress and actor.

Harrison Ford and Adam Sandler joined them as favorite movie stars in the drama and comedy categories, respectively.

The CBS-televised ceremony saw Willis’ “The Sixth Sense” take home statuettes for favorite motion picture and favorite dramatic motion picture. “Big Daddy” was named best comedy motion picture.

In the television category, “Friends” and “ER” shared the top honors as favorite comedy and drama, respectively.

Drew Carey was named favorite male television performer, and Calista Flockhart received the trophy for favorite TV actress.

Jennifer Love Hewitt and Billy Campbell won as favorite female and male performer in new television series.

Ricky Martin was named favorite male musical performer, and Shania Twain won in the same category for female performer. Backstreet Boys took the honors as favorite band.

The People’s Choice Awards were voted by a nationwide poll of 210 million viewers conducted by the Gallup Organization. The ceremony took place at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium and was hosted by Don Johnson and Cheech Marin.
