Downtown Group Gets Operations Boss

The Downtown Spokane Partnership has named Mark Curtis its new operations director, DSP president Michael Edwards announced Thursday.

Curtis, who was membership and marketing director for the YMCA, will assume his new duties Tuesday.

Curtis will oversee the DSP’s security ambassadors and clean team. He will also manage downtown parking programs, including EasyPark validation and monthly park and ride programs for downtown employees, for the Business Improvement District.

Curtis has an MBA from Eastern Washington University and has worked at Egghead Computers, The Bon Marche and Frederick & Nelson.

Terry Lawhead, the DSP’s previous operations director, is now working for the Washington state Department of Trade and Economic Development.
