U.S. 95 Accident Kills 8-Year-Old Boy

An 8-year-old Lapwai, Idaho, boy was killed Monday morning when his parents’ truck slid on icy U.S. Highway 95 between Lewiston and Culdesac, Idaho.

Skylin Picard was ejected from the southbound GMC truck, the Idaho State Police reported.

The driver was his father, Bill Picard, 42. His mother, 33-year-old Lori Picard, also was a passenger. Neither adult was injured.

The accident occurred just after 9:30 a.m. The truck slid across both lanes, struck an embankment, rolled and came to a stop on its top, officers said.

No one in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt, the ISP reported.
