Fun And Gaming

There’s a big difference between gaming and games, and Nevada gambling regulators on Thursday established new rules to make that difference clear in casinos. So from now on cartoon characters such as those in “South Park” or characters from kid-oriented shows such as “The Munsters” can no longer appear on slot machines. Betty Boop is OK and “Spider-man” might be, but the debate over slot machine figures intensified during the last year when more and more machines seemed to carry images aimed at children, who are allowed in casinos although not in gambling areas. Sara Beth Brown, general counsel for International Game Technology, the world’s largest slot machine manfacturer, said the industry welcomes the rule.
