Clergy breakfast
Area ministers are invited to attend a special breakfast at 8 a.m. Feb. 8, to discuss such issues as divorce, death of a partner, and sexuality. The event, sponsored by the clergy advisory committee of Planned Parenthood, is called “Love Ethics: Challenges in Pastoral Care.”
Those planning to attend must call 326-6292, extension 105, by Tuesday to register and inquire on where the breakfast will be served.
Novena at Catholic Cathedral
The Roman Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes will begin a special Jubilee Year novena (nine days of prayer) on Thursday in honor of Mary. There will be Masses every weekday and Saturday at 6:30 a.m., noon and 5 p.m. Confessions will be heard weekdays from 4 to 4:45 p.m. The schedule will continue for nine days.
Fr. Robert Spitzer, president of Gonzaga University, will make a special presentation on “Mary in the Third Millennium” at 3 p.m. Feb. 6 as part of the novena.
The Cathedral is locatated at 1115 W. Riverside.
John’s gospel live
Actor Leonardo Defilippis will present his dramatic presentation of “The Gospel According to John” during a special performance at 4 p.m. Feb. 6, at Immaculate Heart Retreat Center, 6910 S. Ben Burr Road.
The two-hour performance is appropriate for those 10 and older. Tickets are $15 for adults, and $12 for seniors and children under 12. Seating is limited. Call 448-1224 for reservations.
