Lakeland Captures Iml Title With Win
Ashley Jamison had seven steals and Lakeland swiped away the Intermountain League title by defeating St. Maries 59-36 at Rathdrum on Saturday afternoon.
The Hawks (9-0 IML) complete their regular season at Bonners Ferry on Tuesday. Every other league team has at least three losses after Timberlake surprised BF on Saturday.
For Lakeland, Sarah Hansen and Lindsay VonBehren had six rebounds apiece, and Stacey Douglas and Anika Duvall had four assists apiece.
Lakeland has an opening-round bye to the district tournament.

Kris Sly hit a 3-pointer with 14 seconds left as the Eagles rallied from a five-point, fourth-quarter deficit to top visiting Sandpoint 60-57 in the Border League.
WV’s John Focht scored all nine of his points in the fourth quarter.
Steve Mills gave Sandpoint a 55-54 lead with an inside basket, but Sly fed Lance Pecht for a 3-pointer and a two-point Eagles lead. Mills’ baseline shot tied the game at 57 with 24 seconds left.
