Whitworth’s ministry institute

Whitworth College will host its 25th annual Institute of Ministry July 17-21. The event is designed for pastors, worship directors, music directors and their families. The schedule include worship, Bible study, workshops, and small group interaction.

The featured speakers include the Rev. Heidi Husted, senior pastor of Columbia Presbyterian Church in Vancouver, Wash.; Bruce Metzger, a New Testament professor at Princeton Theological Seminary; and Harold Best, professor of music of the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music.

Workshop topics include the creation of the New Testament, family ministry, choral techniques for the church choir and dance in worship. There will also be art, music and recreational activities for children and teens.

The cost is $210 per person or $375 per couple, $125 for youth age 13-19, and $110 for infants through age 12. The price includes most meals. Accommodations are available for an additional charge. Call the college at 777-3275 for more information or to register.
