Anna May (Ginley) Quinn Spokane
Funeral Mass for Anna May (Ginley) Quinn, will be at 11:00 a.m. today at St. Charles Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation is planned from 8 to 10 a.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Quinn, who was born in Bonnyconlin, County Mayo, Ireland, died Wednesday. She was 94.
She came to the United States aboard the Aquitania in 1922 at the age of 16. After disembarking at Ellis Island, N.Y., she made her way to Chicago, where she met and married Henry O’Neill Quinn, also from Ireland.
They lived in Chicago, where Mrs. Quinn worked at United States Tobacco. They later owned and operated a deli during World War II.
In 1972 she and her husband moved to Spokane, where Mrs. Quinn became a nanny, helping to rear children from five area families over the years.
Her husband died in 1983.
Survivors include two sons, Patrick Quinn of Spokane, and Martin Quinn of Westchester, Ill.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Chad Lambert Spokane
Memorial service for Chad Leigh Lambert, 18, will be at 3 p.m. today at the Bowl and Pitcher day use area in Riverside State Park. Direct Cremation and Burial Service in Albuquerque, N.M., is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Lambert, who was born in San Diego, died June 17 in Albuquerque, from injuries suffered when he was struck by an automobile. He was visiting family in Albuquerque.
He attended North Central and Shadle Park high schools and recently graduated from high school in Albuquerque. He had moved back to Spokane.
Survivors include his mother, Carmetta Lambert Hoffman; his father and stepmother, Rick and Robbie Lambert; three brothers, Sean Lambert, Brandon Hoffman and Niko Glore; two stepbrothers, Aaron and Josh Gonzales; his grandmother, Pam Thomas; his grandfather Eric Lambert; and his great-grandmother, Graca Watson.
Leo Engle Spokane
Memorial service for Leo A. Engle, 86, will be at 9:30 a.m. today at the Northeast Senior Center. The Neptune Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Engle, who died Wednesday, was born in Kevin, Mont.
He moved to Spokane in 1920 and married Sophie Hassig-Korb in 1941.
Mr. Engle operated the Hillyard Lockers for 30 years. He retired in 1970.
He was a member of the Moose and Eagles lodges, Northeast Senior Center and the United Grocers Association.
Survivors include his wife; two sisters, Irene Pankey and Florence Senmidt, both of Spokane; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Bonnie (Scharffer) Cantrell Spokane
Private memorial service for Bonnie Jean (Scharffer) Cantrell, 75, will be held. Her ashes will be spread in Hawaii at her request. Spokane Cremation and Burial Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Cantrell, who was born in Lancaster, Wash., died June 29.
She graduated from high school in Springdale, Wash., and married Dan Cantrell in 1944. They were divorced in 1962.
Mrs. Cantrell served in the Army Reserve during World War II as an operating room nurse after studying nursing at Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing.
She worked in the window covering business for many years and moved to Helena. She returned to Spokane 15 years later and opened her own business.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Cantrell of Spokane and Daniel Cantrell of Palm Springs, Calif.; a brother, Donald Scharffer of Spokane; a sister, Norma Sanderson of Kentucky; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Darlene Elder Spokane
Private service for Darlene L. Elder, 59, will be held. Neptune Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Elder, who was born and raised in Oregon, died Monday.
She was a homemaker and lived in Spokane since 1970.
Survivors include two daughters, Starlene Dowland and Kimberly Elder, and four sons, Michael, Patrick, Timothy and Shawn Elder, all of Spokane.
Ruth Clacy Palouse, Wash.
Memorial service for Ruth M. Clacy, 91, will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse. Inurnment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park in Spokane.
Mrs. Clacy, who was born in Spokane, died Monday.
She married Alfonso Clacy in 1926 and they lived in Spokane, where they operated a downtown cafe for several years.
They moved to Pullman in 1964 and both worked for Washington State University. Mrs. Clacy worked in the dining services and retired in 1971 and moved to Palouse.
Her husband died in 1971.
Survivors include a son, Robert Clacy of Vancouver, Wash.; a sister, Dorothy Butterworth of Big Fork, Mont.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Troy Bauman Chewelah, Wash.
Service for Troy Eugene Bauman, 11, will be at 11 a.m. today at Snyder Football Field in Chewelah. In case of bad weather the service will be held at New Life Christian Center in Addy, Wash. Burial will be at Chewelah Memorial Park. Schanzenbach Funeral Home in Chewelah is in charge of arrangements.
Troy, who was born in Colville, Wash., died Wednesday from injuries suffered in a four-wheeler accident in Chewelah.
Survivors include his parents, Gene and Lynnette Bauman of Chewelah; a sister, Amy Bauman at home; his grandparents, Clancy and Clettis Bauman, Bob and Joy Gardner, and Dan and Janet Schoenberg, and his great-grandmother, Shirley Girnus, all of Chewelah.
Jane Evans Spokane
Memorial service for Jane Evans, 74, was Sunday in California.
Mrs. Evans, who was born in Spokane, died Saturday.
She graduated in 1943 from Lewis and Clark High School, where she served as president of the Girls Federation and was head cheerleader.
Mrs. Evans worked for Washington Water Power for one year and later graduated form the University of Idaho where she was elected “I” Queen in 1947. She also was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
She married John Evans in 1947 and they lived in Pocatello, Idaho, from 1952 until 1991, when they moved back to Spokane. Since then, they had divided their time between Spokane and Laguana Hills, Calif.
Mrs. Evans was named Mrs. Idaho in 1963 and represented the state of Idaho in the Mrs. America Pageant.
She was an artist and volunteered at the YWCA Art Center. She also was past president of Bannock Memorial Hospital Guild and PEO Chapter BA, past Bethel Guardian of Bethel 1 Job’s Daughters and was a member of the Presbyterian church.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Marcia Goicoechea of Spokane and Cynthia Hebein of Yorba Linda, Calif.; a brother, Donn Thompson of Spokane; and six grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Idaho Youth Ranch.
Robert Hawkins Spokane
Memorial service for Robert Roscoe Hawkins, 78, is planned for 1 p.m. Monday at Riplinger Funeral Home.
Born in Olympia, Mr. Hawkins died Wednesday.
He graduated in 1940 from Olympia High School, and served in the Washington National Guard from 1938 to 1958 with the rank of warrant officer 1. He entered the Navy Air Corps V5 program in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1945.
Mr. Hawkins worked for Olympia Brewing Co. in Great Falls, Mont., for several years before moving to Spokane in 1972.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge, the Lions Club, the Cougar Club and the Presbyterian church.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Jerry Lou; two sons, Randy and James Hawkins; two sisters, Maxine Bigelow of Fairfield, Calif., and Shirlee Wold of Kirkland, Wash.; and four grandchildren.

Walter `Jerry’ Stoddard Spokane
Memorial service for Walter George “Jerry” Stoddard, 72, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Hillyard Assembly of God Church. Spokane Cremation and Burial Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Stoddard, who was born in Coeur d’Alene, died Monday.
He was an auto mechanic.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, June; a son, Berdette Stoddard of Spokane; a daughter, Melody Fowler of Spokane; several stepchildren; two sisters, both of Spokane; three brothers, all of Idaho; and several grandchildren.
Marcus Howard Spokane
Memorial service for Marcus A. Howard, 82, will be at 2 p.m. next Saturday at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Private inurnment will be at at later date at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
Mr. Howard, who was born in Garwood, Mo., died June 24. he was a 30-year Spokane resident.
He worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930s in the Pacific Northwest and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Mr. Howard graduated from Western States Chiropractic College in Gresham, Ore., and worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and the Postal Service. He retired in 1970 and moved to Spokane.
He was a member of the Ancient Mystical Order of the Rosary Cross, and the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Howard is survived by a sister, Edith Nickell of Spokane.

Lillie Petersen Centralia, Wash.
Service for Lillie A. Petersen, 99, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the NewellHoerling’s Funeral Chapel in Centralia. Burial will be Tuesday at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery in Spokane.
Mrs. Petersen, a former 57-year Spokane resident, died Tuesday. She was born in Spencer, Neb.
She married William Petersen in 1922, and was a homemaker.
Her husband died in 1947.
Mrs. Petersen moved to Centralia a year and a half ago.
Survivors include two daughters, Marjorie Fritz of Portland and Donna Harding of Centralia; a sister, Rose Tindell of Van Nuys, Calif.; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Earl Shinkoskey Spokane
No service will be held for Earl Shinkoskey, 90, at his request. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Colfax, Wash., Mr. Shinkoskey died Tuesday.
He graduated in 1928 from Colfax High School, and moved to Spokane in 1933.
Mr. Shinkoskey was the music director at KHQ, an orchestra leader, music store owner and a music teacher.
His wife preceded him in death.
He is survived by a son, Gary Shinkoskey of Tacoma, Wash.
Charlotte Clark Spokane
Service for Charlotte Ann Clark, 65, was Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints East Stake Center. Burial followed at Spokane Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Clark, who was born in Olive, Calif., died Monday. She was a 37-year Spokane resident.
She married Richard Clark in 1951 and taught piano for 48 years.
Mrs. Clark was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 22nd Ward, where she served as Primary President, Ward and Stake Young Women President and Ward Relief Society President. She also served on the local election board for many years.
Survivors include her husband; six daughters Susan Olson, Diana Jefford and Kathryn Rosenbaum, all of Spokane, Carolyn Wilkinson of Otis Orchards, Nancy Vinton of Lamont, Calif., and Judy Parnell of San Jose, Calif.; two sons, Richard Clark Jr. of Parker, Colo., and James Clark of Ogden, Utah; a brother, Maurice Payan of California; two sisters, Helen Wilson of Spokane and Denese Payan of California; 28 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mollie Fabiano Spokane
No service will be held for Mollie A. Fabiano, 90, at her request. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Miss Fabiano, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Tuesday.
She worked for Anthony, Baker and Burns, and retired after 40 years.
She is survived by two sisters, Margherita Logsdon of Sacramento, Calif., and Mary Lombardo of Revelstoke, British Columbia.
Gladys Johnson Colfax, Wash.
Private burial for Gladys L. Johnson, 82, will be held at Oakesdale (Wash.) Cemetery. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Oakesdale, Mrs. Johnson died Sunday.
She graduated from Cheney Normal School with a bachelor’s degree in education, and received a master’s degree from Washington State University.
Mrs. Johnson was a teacher in Garfield, Wash., and Colfax.
She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma sorority, Washington Education Association and the Parvin Grange.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Charles; a daughter, Maryellen Darnold of Vancouver, Wash.; two sisters, Violet Graham of Deer Park and Jeanne Painter of Cheney; two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.

Clara Northrop Wilbur, Wash.
Service for Clara V. Northrop, 85, will be at 11 a.m. today at Wilbur Presbyterian Church. Graveside service is planned for 11 a.m. Monday at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Vancouver, Wash. Strate Funeral Home in Davenport, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Northrop, who died Wednesday, was born in Stuart, Neb.
In 1935 She married Orla Northrop.
Mrs. Northrop taught school briefly in Nebraska before moving to Wilbur in 1941.
She moved to Vancouver in 1954 and worked various jobs until retiring in 1978. She moved to California in 1982, and in 1989 moved to Spokane. She returned to Wilbur in 1996.
Survivors include four daughters, Rochelle Carrasco of Spokane, Donna Northrop of Pacifica, Calif., Reva Perry of Wilbur and Mardell Kersteter of Vancouver; a son, Darrell Northrop of Vancouver; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wilbur Senior Citizen Center or the Lincoln Hospital Foundation in Davenport.
Richard Golob Coeur d’Alene
No service will be held for Richard F. “Dick” Golob, 69, at his request. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Golob, who died Sunday, was born in Polson, Mont.
He graduated from high school in Post Falls, and had worked as a paperboy for the Spokane Daily Chronicle. He later worked in the circulation department until serving in the Army from 1951 to 1953.
After his military service Mr. Golob resumed his employment at the Spokane Chronicle and later became a district manager in the Clarkston, Wash., area until his partial retirement in 1971.
Mr. Golob worked as a car salesman and continued to work part-time in circulation at the Chronicle, and later at The Spokesman-Review until 1991.
He moved to Coeur d’Alene 12 years ago.
Survivors include a daughter, Stephanie Culbertson of Salinas, Calif.; two sons, Richard Golob of Fort Worth, Texas, and Jeff Golob of Monterey, Calif.; a sister, Lorraine McGee of Kent, Wash.; two brothers, Charles Golob of Salem, Ore., and Glen Golob of Post Falls; and two grandchildren.
