Veradale Post Office Plans Friday Open House
After almost a year of pounding hammers and inconvenience, Veradale Postmaster Dwight Douvia is inviting the community to come see the changes to the expanded branch post office.
The Veradale branch post office will host an open house and grand opening from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday.
The branch at 15202 E. Sprague now has one of the few postal stores in the area.
That means shoppers can choose from the stamps, mailing packages, stationary and other postal items without worrying that they are holding up the line behind them.
“We know people have put up with a lot during the construction and remodeling,” said Kathy Burton, a postal clerk.
District post office officials will visit during the open house and the branch will also have an ice cream social.
But don’t expect the hammers to be quiet for too long.
Now that the western half of the building is finished, crews will begin to remodel the other half. It will become offices and a mail processing center and should be finished in about two months.
