International Ferry Service Canceled
The Anacortes to Sidney, British Columbia ferry run has been canceled for today, a Washington State Ferries spokeswoman said.
The run will resume normal service on Tuesday, spokeswoman Susan Harris-Huether said Sunday.
The ferry Elwha was taken off the international run over the weekend to fill in for a ferry taken out of service on the busy Seattle to Bremerton run, she said.
The Walla Walla was declared seaworthy again after drive motor repairs on Sunday, and it was to be back in service beginning today on the Seattle to Bremerton run, Harris-Huether said.
The Elwha could not be returned to its normal Anacortes to Sidney run until Tuesday, she said.
Sidney is located about 20 miles north of Victoria on the east coast of Vancouver Island.
