Blue Devils Tumble In Centralia

Mon., July 31, 2000

Things got a little wild for the Northwest Athletics Blue Devils at the Senior American Legion state tournament Sunday at Centralia.

Unfortunately for the Blue Devils, the wild result was a 16-12 loss to Pepsi Pak of Yakima.

The Blue Devils’ Jason Wederspahn went 4 for 6, including a grand slam in the first inning. He drove in six runs.

Jerin Harper hit a two-run home run, Ryan Jacobsen hit a solo home run, Chad Carey went 4 for 6 with two doubles and two RBIs, and Mark Schunza went 2 for 5 with a double and four RBIs.

The Blue Devils trailed 16-10 entering the ninth, scored two runs but left the bases loaded.

Northwest Athletics play Aberdeen today.
