‘Comedy Of Errors’ Playing In Chewelah
The Amayan Acting Troupe in Chewelah, Wash., presents Shakespeare’s comedy of mistaken identities, “The Comedy of Errors,” beginning tonight.
This lighthearted play is about two pairs of twins and the confusion which results when they switch identities. It is one of Shakespeare’s earliest and shortest comedies: It runs about an hour and 45 minutes, plus a 15-minute intermission.
Laura Thain, the creative force behind the Amayan Acting Troupe, is the director.
The show opens tonight and continues Friday, Saturday, Sunday and June 9-11. Curtain time is 7 p.m. There will also be a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday. All of the above shows will be in the Jenkins Middle School Theatre, at the corner of Lincoln and Highway 395.
In addition, there will be two “Shakespeare in the Park” performances at the Chewelah City Park, June 10 and June 11 at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $5 for all shows and $3 for children 12 and under, available in advance at the Go West Bookstore in Chewelah, and also at the door. Call (509) 935-6968 for information.
