Aaron Delph Princeton, Idaho
Memorial service for Aaron Michael Delph, 12, will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the Potlatch (Idaho) Elementary School gymnasium. Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse, Wash. is in charge of arrangements.
Aaron, who was born in Moscow, Idaho, died Sunday in a logging truck accident in the Flood Woods near Clarkia, Idaho.
He was a student at Potlatch Elementary School.
Survivors include his parents, Scott Delph and Theresa Butler, both of Potlatch; two sisters, Amanda and Brittaney Butler, both at home; his grandparents, Bobbie Butler of Moscow and Eugene Butler of Coffman Cove, Alaska; and his great-grandmother, Gladys Butler of Twin Falls, Idaho.
Lorraine Distad Spokane
Graveside service for Lorraine Distad, 82, will be at 10 a.m. today at Holy Cross Cemetery. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Distad, who was born in Wapato, Wash., died Sunday.
She graduated from the St. Joseph Academy in Yakima in 1934 and moved to Spokane in 1951.
Mrs. Distad worked as a secretary for Kaiser Aluminum corporate office in Spokane. She later was a legal secretary for several law firms. Mrs. Distad retired in 1986 as a secretary at Washington State University.
She was active in the Spokane Civic Theater during the 1960s.
Survivors include one son, Paul Stevens of Olympia; two daughters, Karen Sanborn of Spokane and Delpha Camp of Eugene, Ore.; a sister, Florita Hope of Spokane; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Robert Cobb Priest River, Idaho
Memorial service for Robert Wayne Cobb, 35, will be at 11 a.m. today at the Church of Christ in Priest River. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Priest River is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Cobb, who was born in Spokane, died Tuesday.
He moved to Iowa in 1993 and then to Lampe, Mo., in 1995. Mr. Cobb returned to Priest River five months ago.
He was working as a trimmer at Tri-Pro Cedar Products in Oldtown, Idaho.
He volunteered at the Priest River Thrift Shop and the Charbonneau Hotel.
Mr. Cobb attended the Church of Christ in Priest River.
Survivors include his mother, Donna Cobb of Priest River; four sisters, Darla McNamee of Elk, Lorene and LeDonn Cobb, both of Seattle, and LeAnna Swanson of Branson, Mo.; and his grandparents, Edgar and Alberta Morrow of Priest River.
Violet Coe Greenacres
Visitation for Violet Coe, 87, will be from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Graveside service is planned for 2 p.m. Monday at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Born in High Prairie, Alberta, Mrs. Coe died Tuesday.
She was a homemaker.
Her husband, Claude, died in 1997.
Survivors include two sons, David Coe of Otis Orchards and Dick Coe of Osburn, Idaho; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Eugene Pare Pullman
Memorial service for Eugene George Pare, 85, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Pullman Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Pare, who was born in Lynn, Mass., died May 26.
He graduated from high school in Lynn and received degrees from Tufts University, Northeastern University and Massachusetts Institite of Technology.
In 1939 he married Marjorie Hayes.
He taught in Chicago at the Illinois Institute of Technology for 10 years, and in 1956 accepted a professorship in mechanical engineering at Washington State University. He retired from WSU in 1985.
He and his wife moved to Marina Del Ray, Calif., after he retired. They returned to Pullman in 1999.
Mr. Pare was the author of several textbooks and coached youth baseball.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Merilynn Daggett of Rathdrum, Idaho; three sons, Philip Pare of Boston, Ronald Pare of Texas and Stephen Pare of California; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Bertha Huling Newport, Wash.
Memorial service for Bertha Anne Huling, 56, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the family’s home on Camden Road in Newport. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Huling, a lifetime Newport resident, died Saturday.
She graduated from high school in Newport and in 1959 married Robert Huling.
Mrs. Huling was a receptionist for Dr. Morrow and Dr. Weir in Newport.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Michael Huling of Newport and Martin Huling of Bead Lake, Wash.; her mother, Anna Jacoby of Newport; two brothers, Craig Womack of Newport and Gary Womack of Alabama; a sister, Ellen Hendergart of Oregon; and four grandchildren.
Lauretta Ropp Spokane
Funeral Mass for Lauretta Mary Ropp, 90, will be at 11 a.m. today at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church. There will be private inurnment. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Ropp, who died Wednesday, was born in Holdingford, Minn.
She graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Minneapolis in 1931. In 1947 she graduated from Catholic University with a bachelor’s degree in public health.
Mrs. Ropp moved to Spokane in 1950, and married Murlie Ropp in 1952.
She was a public health nurse for Spokane County Health Department for more than 20 years. She also was an industrial nurse for the Postal Service. She retired in 1965.
She was active in the preservation of the environment and she and her husband were members of the Hobnailer’s Hiking Club. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband; a sister, Rita Wardian of Kent, Wash.; four brothers, Lloyd Wardian of Spokane, Gilbert Wardian of Coeur d’Alene, Robert Wardian of Seattle and Claud Wardian of Layton, Utah.
