Van Driver, 34, Dies In Crash

A Cataldo man was killed Thursday night after his van went off a road and struck a tree.

Patrick Lyle Sullivan, 34, was driving east on Canyon Road in Shoshone County around 11 p.m. His 1976 Dodge van went off the road near milepost 38 and hit a tree. Sullivan was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Idaho State Police.

Sullivan had no passengers and police believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

Sullivan moved to the area in June 1985 from Leavenworth, Kan. He was self-employed as a carpet installer and tile layer.
