Man Killed In Ditch Cave-In

A Hayden man was killed Sunday when the ditch he was excavating caved in, trapping him.

Robert E. Radmacher, 46, was working in a ditch along the 15000 block of North Hayden Lake Road at about 9:30 a.m. when it caved in on him.

Radmacher was pronounced dead at the scene, said Sgt. W.B. Crawford of the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department.

An autopsy is scheduled for early this week, Crawford said.
