Capitol Restoration Discussed At Nic
Coeur d’Alene Plans to restore Idaho’s historic state Capitol building in time for its centennial will be the subject of a town hall meeting here today.
Architects, state officials and volunteers have developed a master plan for a $40 million, five-year restoration project, and are now asking for public comments on the plan. The Coeur d’Alene meeting will begin at noon in the Driftwood Bay Room, on the main floor of the North Idaho College student union. All are welcome.
Supporters hope to raise private funds for much of the work, along with some public investment.
The Coeur d’Alene town hall meeting is one in a series of meetings around the state. A similar gathering will be held tonight in Lewiston, at 7 p.m. at Williams Conference Center at Lewis-Clark State College.
People may also review the plans on the Internet at www.idahostatecapitol.org. Public comments will be accepted through June 30.
