Register Early For Valley Bible Schools
Vacation Bible school season is in full swing as several Valley churches schedule Bible learning and activities for kids. Parents are advised to register their children early, as some programs fill quickly.
Here’s a look at some of the programs around the Valley:
Pines Baptist church will present “The Fantastic Good News Ocean Odyssey” June 26-30 at the church, 714 S. Pines. The free classes will run from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily for children in grades K-6.

The group “Peanut Butter ‘n’ Jesus” will be on hand for the vacation Bible school session scheduled for June 25-29 at the Valley Assembly of God Church, 15618 E. Broadway. Members of the group are from Northwest College in Kirkland, Wash., and use puppets and drama in their ministry.
The session will start with a family rally at 6 p.m. on June 25. Classes will run from 9:30 a.m. to noon daily from June 26-29. The theme of the event is “Fruit of the Spirit.” All children in grades K-6 are invited to attend the free classes.

The Valley United Methodist Church, 10422 E. Main, will offer its vacation Bible school June 26-30. Classes will run from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and lunch is included. The theme of the event is “Club Can-Do: Kids Called to Care” and it’s open to children age four through the fifth grade.

“Son Zone Discovery Center” is the theme of the vacation Bible school scheduled for June 26-30 at Foothills Community Church, 11102 N. Forker Road. Children age four through the eighth grade are invited to attend the free classes, offered from 9 a.m. to noon daily.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will host “Holy Word Studios” from June 26-30. Classes will be held daily from 9 to 11:45 a.m. for children age four through the sixth grade.
The cost is $5 per child with a maximum of $15 per family. Call the church office at 926-7966 to register. The church is located at 2511 S. Pines.
Liberty Lake Community Church is planning its vacation Bible school, “Training Champions for God,” for June 26-30. Classes for children in grades K-5 will run from 9 a.m. to noon daily.

Millwood Community Presbyterian Church will present “Son Zone Discovery Center” June 19-23. Classes for children in grades K-6 will run from 9 a.m. to noon daily.
The cost is $7 per child. Call the church at 924-2350 to register. The church is located at 3223 N. Marguerite Road.
Auction fund-raiser today
The youth of Starr Road Baptist Church will put on an auction today at 4:30 p.m.
The event begins with a silent auction and a preview of oral auction items. The live auction begins at 6 p.m.
Items up for bid include gift baskets, a wooden clock, a pool table, a 10-person raft and coupons redeemable for baked goods.
Proceeds from the event will be used to send church youth to summer camp.

New craft time for kids
Christ Lutheran Church, 13009 E. Broadway, is offering a new summer craft time program at the church. The first session is between services Sunday at 9:30 a.m. The program is open to all children in preschool through the fourth grade and will be offered on the second, third and fourth Sundays of each month through August. Pentecost service
The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection will have a special combined worship service on Sunday to celebrate Pentecost.
The service begins at 10 a.m. and will be followed by a potluck picnic.

Conference coming up at Berean
The Berean Bible Church, 10910 E. Boone, will host a conference titled “To Live is Christ” June 21-23. The featured speakers are Precept Bible studies teachers Wayne Barber and Nelda Thomas.
Session will run from 8:45 a.m. to noon daily and from 7 to 9:15 p.m. daily.
