Web Site Explains Sex Offender Rules

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office has constructed a site on the Internet to clarify rules and requirements regarding sex offender registration.

The site addresses commonly asked questions, such as why offenders are allowed to live near schools. (There’s no law against it.)

The information can be accessed through the Spokane County web site, www.spokanecounty.org. Under department listings, go to the Sheriff’s Office, then open the “traffic unit” site. Links to Washington State laws and questions and answers are available there.
