Forest Officials Close Bridge
Nez Perce National Forest officials on Friday barricaded the entrance to Rainy Day Bridge. The bridge is about 50 miles upstream of Kooskia on the South Fork of the Clearwater River. Rock debris piled beyond the bridge makes it impassable, forest officials say. But they don’t have “the necessary resources to deal with the situation immediately,” according to a press release. Signs warn the public that the road is blocked until further notice. For more information, contact forest headquarters at (208) 983-1950.
