New faces:
Eric J. Roth has joined the law firm of Lukins & Annis and will work in the firm’s Spokane office. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Gonzaga University in 1993 and a law degree from the University of Washington in 1998. His practice will focus on general litigation.
World Wide Packets has added the following people to its staff:
Chris Setty joined the company as a product manager. His responsibilities include detailing product requirements such as features, costs and timelines and working with engineering departments to meet their deadlines. Setty previously was senior systems engineer for Cabletron in Liberty Lake, where he consulted with large enterprise customers and designed network systems.
Tim Holloway was hired as senior system engineer with responsibility for developing World Wide Packets’ integrated services network solutions. Holloway was previously a system engineer for Packet Engines. He provided pre-sales engineering support for gigabit routing applications. Holloway earned a bachelor’s degree in business with a marketing option from California State University, Hayward.
Don Douglas has joined World Wide Packets as a staff embedded software engineer. Douglas was previously president of Compufirm Corp. for the past 18 years. Compufirm built computer systems that provided movies, games and telephone service for Boeing 747-400 airplanes. He will be designing and developing embedded software for World Wide Packet products.
Mike Chartier was hired as a staff software developer. For the past five years, Chartier worked for DiviCom designing embedded software and leading technical teams in product development. He will perform similar functions at World Wide Packets.
Mike Bly joined World Wide Packets as senior ASIC design engineer. He is developing innovative Ethernet technologies. Bly was previously an ASIC design engineer for Packet Engines, where he was responsible for designing and implanting traffic shaping and congestion management hardware for the Power Rail family of switches. He received a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Idaho.
Shane Johnson was named a senior systems engineer. He will be involved in development of the integrated services network solution for World Wide Packets. This includes development, integration, application and deployment of voice, video and data solutions over World Wide Packets’ Ethernet/IP infrastructure. Johnson previously was a systems engineer for Public Utility District No. 1 in East Wenatchee, where he lead systems integration and fiber optic communications systems projects. Johnson received a bachelor’s degree from Seattle Pacific University and a master’s in electrical engineering from the University of Idaho.

Washington Trust Bank has promoted Delena Smith to branch manager at the Valley Financial Center. She has more than 13 years of banking experience, the last nine at Washington Trust.
Elected:
Ted Stiles, a principal at Lukins & Annis law firm, was elected chairman of the Antitrust, Consumer Protection and Unfair Business Practice section of the Washington State Bar Association for the 1999/2000 fiscal year.
The Spokane Airport Board has approved a measure than extended the terms of the board’s officers from one to two years. The terms of the following officers will now expire in May 2001: Irving B. Reed, chairman; James Calderhead, vice chairman; and Richard Atwood, secretary and treasurer.
Joseph Wessman, an attorney with the Spokane firm of Witherspoon, Kelley, Davenport & Toole, has been named chairman of the Children’s Home Society of Washington’s Northeast Region Advisory Board. Wessman, who has been a member of the board since 1996, will assume the post July 1 and lead the board through the 2000-2001 fiscal year. He succeeds Ronald Snyder, president of a Spokane-based securities firm, who has served two years as chairman.

The University of Idaho College of Business and Economics has been reaccredited for a 10-year period by the International Association for Management Education, an accrediting agency for U.S. business schools.
