Esta `Maxine’ (Ogden) Morse Everett

Service for Esta “Maxine” (Ogden) Morse, 84, will be at 1 p.m. today at Chattaroy Community Church. Burial will be at Chattaroy Cemetery. Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Morse, who was born in Opportunity, died Tuesday. She was a 72-year Chattaroy and Spokane resident.

She graduated from Milan (Wash.) High School in 1932, and soloed in 1939 as an airline pilot.

Mrs. Morse also was a homemaker. She moved to Everett from Spokane 11 years ago.

Mrs. Morse was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Wandermere Golf Club, Spokane Club, Chattaroy Community Church and North Hill Christian Church.

Her husband, Harold, died in 1970.

Survivors include two sons, James Morse of Everett and Roger Morse of Bellevue; a daughter, Susan Johnston of Estes Park, Colo.; a brother, Kenneth Ogden of Mountain Home, Idaho; two sisters, Marde Jean Miller of Spokane and Arlene Coleman of Shoreline, Wash.; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Chattaroy Community Church.

Arthur Myers Spokane

Service for Arthur J. Myers, 87, will be at 1 p.m. today at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery on East Trent. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Meyers, who was born in Uniontown, Wash., died Wednesday.

He was an auto mechanic.

Mr. Myers was a member of the Over The Hill Gang of Liberty Lake.

Survivors include his wife, Laura; four sons, Robert and Ronald Myers, both of Spokane, Duane Myers of Medical Lake and Gary Myers of Colbert; two brothers and two half brothers; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Thomas Hauck Medical Lake

Memorial service for Thomas J. Hauck, 63, will be at 11 a.m. July 1 at St. John Lutheran Church, 223 Hallett St., Medical Lake. The Neptune Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hauck, who was born and raised in Bronx, N.Y., died Monday.

He moved to Spokane in 1954 and served in the Air Force from 1954 to 1968.

After his discharge from the military he became a certified commercial, medical and scientific photographer.

He moved to Maryland in 1970 and married Joanna Williams. They moved to Spokane in 1979. They later divorced.

Mr. Hauck was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Medical Lake, American Legion Post 196 and the National Rifle Association.

Survivors include his former wife of Medical Lake; two sons, Anthony Hauck of Medical Lake and Thomas Wines of Tacoma; three daughters, Lori Campbell of Spokane, Robin Andrus of Vancouver, Wash., and Rose Marie Wines of Anchorage, Alaska; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dialysis Unit at Sacred Heart Medical Center.

Freida Stokes Aurora, Colo.

Service for Freida Rebecca Stokes, a former resident of Pullman, will be held in Denver at a later date. Feldman Mortuary in Denver is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Stokes, who was born in Stanford, Ky., died Thursday. She was 90.

She had been a resident of Pullman for 32 years.

Mrs. Stokes worked in the medical field as a bacteriologist and moved to Colorado seven years ago.

Her husband, Jacob, preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters, Frances Lilienthal of Washington and Anna Sundell of Denver; and two grandchildren.

Jeanne Cadagan Spokane

Memorial service for Jeanne W. Cadagan, 87, will be at 11 a.m. today at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Cadagan, who was born and raised in Michigan, died Saturday.

She worked her way through college as a professional dancer and ballet teacher, graduating from Wayne State University in physical education.

Mrs. Cadagan taught physical education at many Detroit public schools before she married Dan Cadagan in 1940.

She and her husband moved to Spokane in 1947, and she taught at Cooper and Indian Trail elementary schools before retiring in 1977.

She was active in The Lewis and Clark Minstrel Show as a dancer and choreographer. She and her husband were also active in the site selection for Sacajawea Middle School and helped organize and choreograph the first few Ferris High School annual spring variety shows.

Mrs. Cadagan was an active member in the Alter Guild and St. Catherine’s Guild at St. Johns Cathedral and the Friday Musical Group.

Her husband died in 1987.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Carlson of Seattle; two sons, Patrick Cadagan and Dan Cadagan III, both of Spokane; and six grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, the Inland Empire Chapter of the American Heart Association or the Spokane Humane Society.
