Web sites featuring live netcasts show everything from a Los Angeles bus stop to a Midwest corn field.

It’s not exactly riveting material, but still the sites draw legions of curious surfers. Now, Internet video is poised to make a quantum leap forward.

Those improvements will be on display during two upcoming netcasts: a championship boxing match this summer and a road tour with comic Ellen DeGeneres.
